Grace applied to the Society for a travel grant to visit New Zealand for 6 months. She worked as a polo groom on a farm near Hamilton in the North Island training horses and getting them ready for competition. It was hard work with long hours but she was treated as a member of the family. Grace worked for 5 months and spent the final month travelling around New Zealand. It was an incredible unforgettable experience which will stay with her for the rest of her life. The Society is very keen to encourage young people who work in the rural community and we welcome applications from those who would like to take advantage of travel opportunities.
