Somerset Young Farmers Clubs

BAS has made many grants to Somerset Young Farmers including sponsoring their annual county rally, international travel grants and helping individuals to attend competitions all over the UK.

Our most recent grant was awarded to help young farmers in Somerset attend the South West Area YFC Activities Weekend in the Brecon Beacons on 18th -21st August.

Our grant of £500 helped ten individual young farmers from five Somerset groups attend the weekend and paid their transport, accommodation and food costs. Team building activities included kayaking, canoeing, raft building, zip wires, high ropes and much more.

Young farmers from all over the UK and from other countries took part and the weekend provided the opportunity to make new friends, learn new skills and build confidence.
